Albert Bandura developed social learning theory in the 1960s,after having conducted a number of experiments, including the Bobo doll experiment. It can explain why people may use drugs or smoke after seeing their peers engage in the same behavior,or watching violent videos and mimic the aggression seen on TV. The research from 2021 suggests that there are numerous other factors that affect the willingness of people to engage in dangerous behavior. The social learning aspect is just one of them.
